Reflexology:
In the last twenty years reflexology has been making a slow
but sure impact in the field of alternative therapies. It
is based on the principle that all the functions, organs
and parts of the body have their reflexes in the feet and
that by applying pressure to those reflex points health
can be restored, improved and maintained.
The reflex points are only the size of
pinheads, so the accuracy of the treatment is important.
Treatment is given with the hands using a pressure technique
applied to the whole foot. A full treatment involves the
stimulation of specific points within a foot massage that
prepares and relaxes the foot for the gentle pressure techniques.
Aims of the Treatment
The aim of treatment is to discover which
functions, organs or body parts are out of balance and then
by a process of relaxation, massage and pressure break down
congestion and stimulate circulation and energy flow throughout
all the body systems. In this way helping the body to rebalance
and heal itself, bringing a sense of calm and well being.
What can be treated?
Reflexology can help to improve many
conditions ranging from migraine, digestive problems, lack
of energy, back pain, tension and most stress related states.
The Initial Consultation
During the initial treatment session
a detailed case history is taken to determine the best treatment
approach and provides the opportunity to discuss the concerns,
needs and expectations of the client. A full treatment is
given at the end of the case history.
