Emma Yates - Butler
Certified Harp Therapy Practitioner
Harp Doula
Throughout the ages the harp has been used as an instrument of healing. Emma Yates-Butler is a therapeutic musician able to provide an unconditional abiding presence, in particular to assist and facilitate with transitions. A doula is most commonly associated with Pregnancy, Birth, and the early days and weeks of parenting. Emma is passionate about empowering and safeguarding women during this special time. Alongside this specialisation, Emma can play a similar role for anyone experiencing stress, illness, or coping with an ongoing condition. For those frequenting the Healing Clinic, booking a Harp Therapy session may be a one-off pleasure (sound therapy can be an ideal preventative treatment), or sometimes a course of treatments may be required. Each Harp Therapy session is uniquely tailored to the client, as there is such a vast scope of who may be helped by Harp Therapy. Typically the music is created in the moment, matching the mood of the client and other factors such as heart rate and rate/pattern of breathing. Reiki and self-care techniques are often included. The harp reaches people on all levels, be it physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual, and therefore people of all ages and circumstances will benefit from having the harp played to them with a therapeutic intent.
Specifically, you may wish to consider using this practitioner for the following situations/symptoms:

Harp therapy has its roots in bedside musicianship. Emma is quite prepared to make home/hospital/hospice visits alongside her work at the clinic. Before going into an institution she will always make sure to have express permission from the staff. Day-to-day availability is a key feature of this work as is the potential to turn the harp around and create music together interactively. In this way harp therapy can aid in rehabilitation and recovery processes. Harp Therapy is well suited to those approaching end-of-life when there is vast potential for holistic healing to occur.
Emma has completed courses with the International Harp Therapy Program, Nurturing Birth, and Doula UK, and chosen to combine the therapeutic harp and doula practice.
