Joanna Ingerson
Dip ITEC
Holistic Therapist
Lymphatic Massage, Sepia Technique, Aromatherapy Consultancy.
For more than thirty years I worked with the performing arts gaining first hand knowledge of the strains and stresses involved. At the same time I regularly benefited from massage treatments to relieve my own stress. This led me to embark on a career in Complementary Therapy.
Initially I trained for the ITEC (International Therapies Examination Council) Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage at the West London School of Therapeutic Massage. This gave me an appreciation of the holistic approach to restoring balance. To expand my knowledge I attended courses in Advanced Massage and Remedial Techniques, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Traditional Chinese Massage Techniques and Soft Tissue Manipulation with Muscle energy Technique and Myofascial release. I also hold ITEC qualifications in Stress Management, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Lymphatic Massage and Reflexology.
I now specialise in aromatherapy and lymphatic massage and, as I am mature myself, with a special interest in treating the older person with these gentle and effective disciplines.
To keep my skills up to date I am at present following a course in aromatherapy specialist treatments designed to help in working with more challenging disease and emotional states including skin conditions, cystic fibrosis, SAD, depression and grief.
I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
