The Healing Clinic was 16 years old in April 2008. The years have seen many changes, starting out with a small area at the Steiner School and gradually expanding until the big move to Club Chambers last year.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC) the future is bound to be even more interesting and challenging than the past. We are fundraising for our bursary fund and to enable us to do more work on promoting health in the community.
Spring brings welcome sunshine, but also the return for many of hayfever. Fortunately there is help available at the Healing Clinic. The approach taken depends on the individual but the following can be helpful:
Many of these approaches can be used to strengthen and prepare the body as well as to deal with the symptoms of hayfever itself.
The clinic is planning a series of seminars to run in September on a range of subjects. Delivered by therapists, these seminars will be free as part of our efforts to reach out to the community.
In order to raise money to fund these seminars, practitioners are taking part in a Gorilla Fun Run at the Knavesmire in June. If you are able to help with sponsorship please ask at reception or speak with one of the therapists involved. It is only with your assistance that we will raise our £5000 target!
The Healing Clinic has launched a Stop Smoking initiative. The pilot has already run – with very good success rates, but with some tweaking, will be even better.
It will take just 2 hours and involves a combined approach of alternative therapies. The key therapies used are Acupuncture, Kinesiology, Hypnotherapy and Reflexology.
There will be a group atmosphere, with each person being seen individually by each of the three practitioners.
The course will cost just £110 (less than a month's supply of cigarettes!) There will also be some subsidised places.
