2010 is our 18th year of Healing in the Community and marks our third year as a Community Interest Company. Our recent open days om Sunday June 13th and Monday June 14th were a fabulous success, and we were pleased to welcome a number of new people through our doors, in addition to catching up with some familar friendly faces.

The next in our series of Talks for Friends of The Healing Clinic will take place Wed September the 8th, 13:00 until 14:00. Our Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Massage and Accupressure practitioner Nick Lutyens-Humphrey will present an introduction on Food Energetics as an aspect of Chinese Medicine. Free entrance for Members of the Friends of The Healing Clinic, £2 to everyone else.
Spiritual Cinema DVDs - Continuing the series of spiritual movies, on Friday September 10th we invite you to see Mythic Journeys - a fascinating film about life’s purpose, using puppets. Voiced by iconic actors and interwoven with inspiring interviews with thinkers such as Deepak Chopra.We start at 6:30, and this movie is followed by a series of short films. We plan to finish about 9 at the latest. There will be popcorn! Free entrance for Members of the Friends of The Healing Clinic, £2 to everyone else.
Starting Tuesday the 14th of September our Reiki Masters Iain Keegan and Adina Misca are happy to welcome you to a monthly Reiki Share. The share will take place at the clinic starting 6:30 pm and it will last for an hour. Reiki practitioners from all schools and systems are welcome to share their experiences, work together in group healings, meditations and various other techniques. There's a £7 fee for all participants. Concessions apply for students. To book your place please call The Healing Clinic or email us.
The weekly Drop-in Clinics in Briar House Resources continue: Tuesdays from 12:00 - 18:00 and Fridays from 13:00 - 19:00. No appointment necessary. £20 - £25 per half hour mini-treatment. We are also starting a Childrens Drop-in on Thursdays. Other activities in Briar House can be seen here: www.briarhouseresources.co.uk
We are open seven days a week, usually early until late - do just drop in and have a look round, visit our shop in reception (Wild Indigo) and pick up some leaflets. All are welcome!

Be Our Friend: We have a range of events planned in to 2011: Health Self Help techniques and discussions, Spiritual Cinema DVDs - watch this space. FREE for members of The Friends of The Healing Clinic or Briar House, £2 for everyone else. Any donations to our Bursary Fund happily received. The full list will be posted here shortly.
Our outreach programme to provide hand massages to York Carer's Forum and MIND - the mental health charity for Yorkshire - has now begun. This important work has been made possible through our regular Firewalks.
The Outreach Team is also available for hotel services, conferences and businesses. We have a pack showing what we can offer. Please ask at Clinic reception for a copy.
New practitioner details
The Healing Clinic was proud to annouonce some of our latest arrivals:
- Jennifer Syrkiewicz, offering NLP, Counselling, Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy on Mondays
- Allison Singer, who will be starting with us in July, as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist
- Clare Lee, starting in July as Life, Leadership and Team Development Coach
Starting September more practitioners will join us:
- Julian Morgan will be offering Japanese Acupuncture, Meridian Therapy and Emotional Freedom Technique.
- Catherine Wallace, offering Reconnective Healing, Reconnection, Holistic Massage, Hopi Ear Candle, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Lymphatic Massage and The Dharma.
Friends of the Healing Clinic
We have a new membership organisation for Friends of the Healing Clinic. As a a member, you help towards our bursary fund, available to those who would otherwise find access to our services beyond their means. You also receive benefits such as attendance at regular events, and discounts of treatment and at Wild Indigo, our shop. Application forms are available from our reception, or can be downloaded here.
